Move text in a PDF, without re-typing a word

Click a line of real text and slide it where it should sit. DollarFix shifts the actual text object, so the original font, size and colour come along for the ride. Editing is free; you only pay a one-time $1 to download.

Most "PDF editors" won't let you move the text that's already on the page. They let you drop a fresh text box on top, but the original words stay stuck where they were — so a misaligned heading or a date sitting two millimetres too low is a job you can't finish. DollarFix works at the object level: it picks up the real text run and repositions it, matrix and all, leaving the exact glyphs, weight and spacing untouched.

That means moving text is a clean, lossless edit here — there's no whiteout patch, no font substitution and no retyping. Select the words, drag them or nudge with the arrow keys, and the line lands exactly where you want it while still reading as the original document. It's the same page, just tidier.

Everything happens inside your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded, there's no sign-up, and you can rearrange as much text as you like for free. The only charge is a single $1 when you download the finished file — no subscription, no watermark, no recurring anything.

Frequently asked questions

Does it move the real text or just add a box over it?
It moves the real text. DollarFix repositions the actual text object on the page by shifting its transform, so the original glyphs travel with it. You're not stacking a new text box on top of the old words — the original line ends up in its new position.
Will the font, size and colour change when I move a line?
No. Moving text is a lossless operation here — because the original text object is preserved, its font, size, weight, spacing and colour are untouched. There's no font substitution and no whiteout patch involved, so the moved line looks identical to how it did before, just in a new spot.
Can I move text precisely, not just roughly by dragging?
Yes. Drag for quick placement, or select the text and use the arrow keys to nudge it a pixel at a time until it lines up. That's handy for aligning a heading, straightening a stamped date, or closing a gap left by other edits.
Can I move text on a scanned PDF?
Not the scanned text itself — a scan is a flat image, so those words aren't separate objects to grab. There's no OCR here that turns a scan into editable characters. What you can do is whiteout the old area and type fresh text exactly where you want it, which achieves the same reposition on an image-based page.
Is my file uploaded when I move text around?
No. The entire edit runs in your browser and the PDF never leaves your device — there's no server copy and no account. You can reposition as much text as you like for free, and only pay a one-time $1 if you choose to download the result.
